Castelfranco Veneto
Castelfranco Veneto, located in a central position among the Veneto provincial capitals of Treviso, Padua and Vicenza, is a walled town with a medieval castle in an excellent state of preservation.
The birthplace of Giorgione, it preserves his ancient dwelling, Casa Giorgione, and, in a chapel of the Cathedral, the famous Pala di Castelfranco.

The municipality of Castelfranco Veneto extends over a completely flat area, at the western edge of the province of Treviso, on the border with the province of Padua. Its position is such that one can comfortably reach four provincial capitals (Treviso, Venice, Vicenza and Padua), as well as other important towns such as Bassano del Grappa, Cittadella and Montebelluna.
Thanks to its privileged position, it is served by a very varied and complete transport network: three important railway lines converge in the area, crossing at the town’s station, and two important road arteries, the SS 53 Postumia connecting Vicenza to Treviso, and the SS 245 Castellana between Mestre and Bassano del Grappa.
The main river is the Musone-Muson dei Sassi, but other minor watercourses flow through the municipal territory: the Avenale, the Musoncello, the Musonello and the Muson Vecchio.
The town is divided into many hamlets. Castelfranco Veneto is a commercial and industrial hub of great importance compared to the neighbouring municipalities of the province of Treviso.
